Nothing like someone calling and staying "Bringing in XXX." Shipment. Ok... but no one called to make agreements, or get a price on said delivery. So I call the company whom name is on the shipment and they told me some info, and I explain I didn't have a truck needed, be two trips, and as it was a 6 hour drive time each day- 2 days work, might want to check on the mover closer in the area. As in only 30 miles away vs my own 150 miles, one way.

That was yesterday morning.

Since I never heard from them again- thinking they took my advice and sent it on to the other mover.

Nope.

Call from driver- "We will be there today, ETA 4:30 pm, is that alright?" AKA- 4:30 means 5:00 or so... but wait, what?

So I call the company back, saying in a nice way "Yo- you need to stop this delivery, take it to VA. mover, they are closer, be cheaper. Come on guys- it's not that hard to understand." to only end up with the shipment, but paid for two days work so... OK. *shakes head* I just don't get folks somedays. But hey, I need the work too so... long trip here we come!

Why not VA mover? "Had issues in the past with him- we need a clear shipment, you will get us that." Meaning on time, taken care of, customer happy at the end.

Of course the late delivery today means I get to unload the shipment on my own. Which will be fun.

And work late.

--.--

Wouldn't be so bad if I was... I don't know... paid.

Maybe a few more of these shipments and I might milk out one or two paychecks a year.

Who am I kidding- I see some money put back for the two new front tires for the truck that is needed soon. Of course that is about $650/ 700.

Maybe two more jobs like this.

Sure, but seeing *as normal* I am with 3 man on the clock, not going to stop and take any photos. But might spot some places to return to, without the cash flow going out.

No need to ask me about the Coven issue- I have been off the site for a week or so, not really logging in other then just from pure habit it seems.

Imagesinwords had it all in hand, as well as other Master Vampires online last night- and I see the issue is cleared up.

Just glad most members didn't go over board on the issue, pushing when it had to be fix by Cancer himself.

Code- he is the god of his site.

The reason I am off the site, with imagesinwords blessings, my mother passed away last week. The close friends on the site knew this and we have been in touch.

Didn't know if I was going to say anything here or not but as I am going to write about things in life, guess it had to come out.

Mom has been ill for years now. My sisters and brother had taken on the 24/7 care of her, the dementia taking it toll. 8 years ago she got to the point from her painful joints she could not walk, so she became bed bound the last few years of her lift.

The last three years she did not know us. The last year, she barely spoke. The last month her body started to forget how to chew so it was a liquid diet and crushing up her meds, trying to get her to take them.

Last Tuesday- she had the death rattle, breathing hard, could not blink her eyes. For two days she laid in a daze before, the Dr. and nurse that visit at home telling us it was coming. So Tuesday she passed away before 5:30am with us around her bed.

If we had called 911 they would of put her on a ventilator and forced a feeding tube in her. We did call the nurse, and was waiting for sunrise for her to return the call but Mom did not stay with us that long.

Sometimes it is best to let them go in peace. She had a month till she was 86 years old.

Funeral was alright. I lost my Dad all of a sudden, Mom came with years of warning, expecting it.

Either way- it is terrible to lose your parent.

Gosh- guess I did need to talk a little about this.

Mom funeral was .... dare I say... nice? It had her music playing, her poems she loved read, and stories told of her life with her 5 kids and her hubby. A few laughs was heard, tears cried. All by people who knew and loved her.

What more can you ask for?

Nightgame and Elemental kept me together, and the flowers from the VR Zoo and Redqueen really meant a lot to me, bringing a smile and a warm feeling of love and compassion when I needed it the most.

VR is a big part of my life, even more now as I move into another part of it with the death of Mom. They "Friends of VR and VR itself" was here when Dad passed away, they are here now.

Blessed am I.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. Grant forgiveness for all her sins and set her among those you have chosen. Let family and friends who have gone forth from this life before her be reunited in joy. Through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

The ones we care are never really gone, they are still inside our hearts where their memories live, where their laughter is still echoing, where their smile is still shinning, where their voice is whispering.

I give you my condolences and hug you tight.

Always remember the good those we cared about gave us as those are the one important things that belong to you, and that was only for you and will always be yours. Now with their wings watching over you, your mom I am sure is happy when you smile for her, when you sing for her when you speak to her.

When you keep them into your heart the one you love is always beside you with their wings holding you dear.

Gosh... lady just came in to pay her rent. Started talking and she comment it was 15 years ago she rented the home, her and her Mom. :) And today it looks as good as it did when she moved in.

Really- it does. We had a kitchen fire about 10 years ago when her Mom left a pan of oil on the stove, forgot to turn it off.

That got some work/ remodel done. And new carpet a few years back... but yes, as good as when they moved in. Her Mother died about 9 years ago tho, but she stayed on in the home.

Of course at the rent for the 2 bedroom home, she couldn't even rent a two bedroom trailer now days.

Yesterday I got a check for a lady who rents one of the apartments. When she rented her child was ten, maybe eleven years old. Now she is grown up, has a job, and rents her own apartment below her mother so they are 'close' but not that close. lol We gave the daughter a cut on the rent seeing as she is staying with us, just in her own place. Her Mom pays both rents.. which is about a house payment. Lucky they have stayed with us that long. But as it is a duplex, they more or less live in a house. Meaning they are living in the two apartments, no one else around to bother them.

Longest person in a house.... 27 years. He retired from the rail road, rented a three bedroom home. He left the home to move to family *which was about a mile from where he lived- moved across the street from them* His wife died within a year, he followed soon after. He kept trying to buy the house but Dad and Mom always taught us "Land is the only thing you can't make more of- keep it at all cost."

Which we have.

Rental business is not bad if you get the right repair people in your address book, and the right folks in the property. You keep the price down where you can keep them in the there, and you will not have too many big headaches.

Just takes work, like all things.

Must admit my landlord has been good to my family and myself. Usually a deposit and first months rent up front is required.....My landlord agreed i could pay the deposit off in instalments to which i have. He also stated no pets but has now agreed to let me have a cat.

I decorated the house throughout and replaced the damaged walls where there were cracks and put up plain wall paper which can be easily painted over.

Just wish he would get appropriate trades people in at times that do the jobs properly the first time around. Had a few hiccups over the years.

Been here 7 years now and for the rent i am paying each month no way can you get the same rooms at the price these days unless it is damp infested and is a shoddy landlord.

Main Forum discussion- Is Vampirism a Religion?

Man oh man... this must be why Cancer made such a site. Some threads/ post on this site make it a pleasure to read, learn from.

As we face the drama brought about by the members here- I will just give out this little hint/ warning/ strong wish to most of you....

Don't give trolls attention.

Why?

So and So goes into the vampbox and eggs you into crossing that line, breaking the rule on flaming. Out of anger you will say something that will get you... YOU... not the troll suspended.

Why? Trolls know how to push the buttons. They know how to work the system and they will just sit back and laugh at you. You called him a name, you threaten him, YOU broke the rules and will get in trouble.

"But.. but..." your cry out. Nope- they don't break the rules. They get you to. Then the Admins are the bad folks because we 'back' the troll. Trust me, we don't like them either. But unless they cross that line, they can't get touched. We watch, we wait.... but like I said- trolls are here to make you get in trouble, giving them a good laugh and the attention they seek.

Try to remember that, please.

And remember if you don't give a troll the attention- he/ she will get bored and more on to the next site for that attention fix. Sure those members who have been here a while can name a lot of trolls- but they can also say "He left the site..."

So really- who keeps trolls around? You, the ones that feed it.

Fair? Is any rule fair when it doesn't go your way?

Rule- no flaming in the box, no name calling, no drama.

Just walk away, play it cool and it will go away.

Like many have before.

As this one will if you just don't play the game.
